In 1971 the Morrison family tradition selling real estate began. Michael’s parents started Morrison Realty in Upstate New York. They built the company to be the leading brokerage in Fort Ticonderoga of the Adirondack region. It was commonplace for a brokerage to be the firm chosen to repeatedly represent properties over the years and generations. Michael Morrison grew up in this environment and watched his family become the leader in the market place.
This upbringing helped shaped the Morrison House Sotheby’s International Realty organization as you see it today. The company is owned and operated by Michael and Tonia Morrison, a second-generation real estate family that’s “all in”.
Stepping away from real estate Michael was able to perform military service and the private sector as well. A Master’s Degree in Finance and background with developers, property managers, and high tech real estate software firms cemented Michael’s foundation in the industry. In the late 1990’s Michael returned to residential real estate with a regional brand in Western Washington.
His focus was on the unique property and that passion grew over time. His work in the local luxury market garnered multiple marketing awards from the agent to the property level. In fact, he was recognized in 2015 by the prestigious Leaders in Luxury conference for his lifetime achievement in the industry.
Morrison House Sotheby’s International Realty was formed by Michael and his wife, Tonia when they left that regional company to forge something fresh. They knew that the local market needed something to set local unique properties apart rather than just a division. They set out and were granted affiliation with the venerable Sotheby’s International Realty brand in 2008.
Touching lives is a core principle that Michael and Tonia have integrated into the company. They have purposely chose to work with select organizations with substantial impact in the community. The company event marketing throughout the year is tied back to one of the following charities

Violent Crime Victim Services seeks to provide services in our community for the victim/survivors of homicide. They endeavor to act as an advocate for families by offering peer support groups, peer court support, crisis intervention, mental health referrals and faith community referrals.
